Romania Regions

Romania is divided into nine regions see the map.
  • Crisana region
  • Maramures region
  • Bucovina region
  • Banat region
  • Oltenia region
  • Transilvania region
  • Moldova region
  • Muntenia region
  • Dobrogea region

Each region is divided in a different number of counties, so:

  • Crisana is divided into two counties - Bihor and Arad
  • Maramures is divided into two counties - Satu-Mare and Maramures.
  • Bucovina is divided into two counties - Suceava and Botosani.
  • Banat is divided into two counties - Timis and Caras-Severin.
  • Oltenia is divided into five counties - Gorj, Mehedinti, Valcea, Dolj and Olt.
  • Transilvania is divided into ten counties - Salaj, Bistrita Nasaud, Cluj, Mures, Harghita, Hunedoara, Alba, Sibiu, Brasov and Covasna.
  • Moldova is divided into six counties - Neamt, Iasi, Bacau, Vaslui, Vrancea and Galati.
  • Muntenia is divided into ten counties - Arges, Prahova, Buzau, Dambovita, Ilfov, Ialomita, Braila, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Calarasi and Bucharest municipality.
  • Dobrogea is divided into two counties - Constanta and Tulcea.
