County in Romania - Brasov county

Brasov county
Brasov is situated in central-eastern Romania, at the intersection of roads that link commercial Balkans rest of Europe. Brasov is a capital of Brasov county. Brasov is the third-largest city in Romania. The best view of Brasov is from the top of Tampa. You can arrive there by the Telecabine - a cable car. To get the cable car you must arrive in Piata Sfatului and from there you
can ask and anyone can tell you from where you can get it.

Near Piata Sfatului is, also, the Black Church which is the larger Ghotical style church from Romania.

Its building, Sf. Maria Church, started in 1385 and it was renewedin 1770.

If you are driving 10 minutes the car or if you take the bus outside of Brasov you'll arrive to Poiana Brasov. Poiana Brasov is an area that was developed only for foreigners and top Communist officials. It includes several good restaurants and hotels. During the winter months Poiana Brasov is home to some of the best skiing in Romania, though trails are not groomed and ski lifts are limited. In summer, well-marked hiking trails wind along the breathtaking mountainside, and there is a pleasant public swimming pool. Riding the cable car to the top of the mountain provides a view of the Transylvanian plains. Handmade wool sweaters are sold by local peasants in the central parking lot for low prices. Poiana Brasov is a better base for visiting Brasov and the surrounding area because its accommodations are superior.
