County in Romania - Arges county

Arges county is situated in the central-southern part of Romania. 45 parallel passes through the middle of Arges county. Pitesti is a capital of Arges county and is situated on the right bank of Arges river. The link Bucharest to Pitesti is done by motorway. In Pitesti you can visit Pitesti county Museum and Princely Church founded in 1656. In Pitesti county there are three municipalities Pitesti, Campulung and Curtea de Arges and four cities Costesti, Mioveni, Topoloveni and Stefanesti. In Pitesti county you can visit: The Vidraru Barrage, contructed in 5 years and finished in 1965; From Vidraru you can see the Transfagarasanul which is the biggest building like this from Romania, situated to 2034m and has a subway with a length of 845m which pass under Negoiu and Moldoveanu cusps; In Curtea de Arges is the Episcopal Church known under the name Curtea de Arges Monastery, sacred by Neagoe Basarab in 1517.
