Arad county

Arad county is situated in the western part of Romania, at the Hungarian border, both sides of rivers Mures and Crisul Alb and its neighbours are: Bihor county to north and north-east, Alba county to east, Hunedoara county to south-east, Timis to south and Hungary to west. The capital of Arad county is Arad.

In Arad county you can visit: in the Bodroghiu Vechi village the Hodos-Bodrog Monastery, founded in 1177; in Halmagiu village the Adormirea Maicii Domnului church built by the family of Moga waivode in 1396; the citadel located on Cioaca Tautului to the altitude of 129m, the first informations about it rise from 1278; the Moneasa natural terraria; the Dosul Laurului terraria from Zimbru; and so on.
