Alba county

Alba county is situated in the central part of Romania, where the Transylvania Plateau, the Apuseni Mountains and the Meridional Carpathians are meeting, on the left bank of Mures river to the confluence of Ampoi and Sebes rivers. The capital of Alba county is Alba Iulia. The relief in Alba county is varied: mountains, hills and plains.

In Alba county there are three municipalities Alba Iulia, Aiud and Blaj and eight cities Abrud, Baia-de-Aries, Campeni, Cugir, Ocna-Mures, Sebes, Teius and Zlatna. 1 December 1918 is a very important day for Romania, is the day in which to Alba Iulia has been decided, solemn and irrevocably, the unification of Transylvania and Romania.
